WHAT WE DO
Artivism
At Dance Beyond Borders, Artivism means combining art and activism to explore important social issues. We use dance, theater, performance, and creative projects to engage people and spark conversations about Colonial Legacies and Power Structures and Mobility and Belonging. These themes address the ongoing impacts of colonialism, migration, displacement, and the challenges of inclusion, highlighting the struggles for justice and the search for a sense of belonging in new communities.

Our process begins by asking questions. We collaborate with artists, communities, and those directly affected by these issues to gain a deeper understanding of their experiences. This collaborative approach allows us to create art that not only reflects personal stories but also tackles larger social challenges. Through these projects, we aim to spark conversations that matter, bringing real-life issues to the forefront through the power of artistic expression.

At Dance Beyond Borders, we believe that Artivism is most powerful when it includes diverse voices. Different backgrounds and identities shape how individuals perceive and respond to injustice. By incorporating these perspectives, we foster deeper conversations and build greater understanding among our audiences. Our hope is to raise awareness, unite people, and inspire meaningful steps toward justice, fairness, and community action. Whether as participants, supporters, or spectators, we invite everyone to join us in creating positive change that transcends borders.
